Reimagining Penrith with Streets Discovered

Western Sydney Lakes recently welcomed Streets Discovered to explore Penrith Beach, as part of an episode discovering the people, places and energy shaping the West.

‘Episode 6: Reimagining Penrith’ showcases the many sides of the region, from the natural beauty of the Great River Walk and the relaxing energy of Penrith Beach, through to the area’s evolving food, hospitality and nightlife scene.

Host Luke Buesnel stopped by Penrith Beach to speak with Andrew Bondini, General Manager of Western Sydney Lakes, to uncover how the land is creating new ways for the community to connect with water, open space and each other in this growing destination.

As Luke described it, “There’s no waves, no sharks, no stingrays, no jellyfish, no octopus, no worries.”

For Western Sydney Lakes, Penrith Beach represents just one part of a broader vision for the future. A place where tourism, entertainment, recreation, employment and urban development opportunities can flourish and come together alongside the natural environment.

Since filming, Penrith Beach has wrapped up for the 2025/26 season. We look forward to welcoming beachgoers back later this year. Follow us on Instagram to keep up to date on the latest.

‘Episode 6: Reimagining Penrith’ is now streaming.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians, the Darug Peoples, of the land on which Western Sydney Lakes is located.

We respect their enduring cultural and spiritual connection to this special place, most notably characterised by the Nepean waterways and the Blue Mountains escarpment. We will work in a respectful manner with Aboriginal people in Caring for Country and aim to celebrate Aboriginal history, culture, customs and beliefs.
