Water quality improvements safeguard Penrith Lakes

Western Sydney Lakes played an integral role in consultations last year leading to an important agreement enabling the NSW Government to install a temporary pipe and pump system to supply water to our precious wetlands this year.

This proactive step ensures continued environmental care while the permanent water infrastructure is being expertly constructed by PLDC – securing the health and resilience of these ecosystems for generations to come.

This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to environmental leadership and sustainability, protecting and enhancing rehabilitated ecosystems and addressing urban heat challenges in Greater Penrith. It also reflects our collaborative approach, working hand-in-hand with government and partners to bring positive outcomes for both nature and community.

At Western Sydney Lakes, we’re dedicated to transforming this once industrial quarry into a vibrant, water-based destination that balances ecological stewardship with recreational and economic opportunities for the region.
